DESCRIPTION:Students from 14 area schools will take place in the Youth Volunteer Corps of Hampton Roads (YVCHR) Second Annual Canstructure Contest on April 27\, 2013. All cans are collected by the teams and donated to The Foodbank of the Virginia Peninsula. Last year\, 8\,515 pounds were collected for donation. Teams will begin building their structures with the help of local engineers at 8 a.m. and judging will take place on the structures at 3 p.m. The public can view the structures being built throughout the day and vote on their favorite by purchasing a $1 raffle ticket\, with proceeds going to the YVCHR. Structures will remain on display through Friday\, May 3\, 2013.
